Mrs Chifley was known for her love of cooking and collection of handwritten recipes. The room typifies the basics of a functional kitchen. The linoleum floor, ‘Kelvinator’ refrigerator and gas stove highlights what was then modern in kitchen decor and furnishings. The dresser is complete with its well used china and the walk-in pantry is nearby.

"We make mistakes because we are only human and no political party can remake human nature"

- Ben Chifley

"We have a great objective - the light on the hill - which we aim to reach by working for the betterment of mankind not only here but anywhere we may give a helping hand"

- Ben Chifley
